Operose Health celebrates exceptional colleagues at the 2026 Above & Beyond Awards

And the winners are... 

Colleagues from across Operose Health came together at Ansty Hall on 15 July to celebrate the people and teams who make an extraordinary difference every day at our annual Above & Beyond Awards.

The awards recognise colleagues who embody our values through compassion, innovation, leadership and excellence, while making a lasting difference to patients, colleagues and the communities we serve.

This year's nominations were our strongest yet, showcasing inspiring stories of colleagues transforming services, tackling health inequalities, supporting one another through change and continually raising the standard of primary care.

 

 

We are delighted to announce that the winners of the 2026 ABAs are...

The Caring Award

Winner: Donna Seymour – Practice Manager (London)

Highly Commended: Kim Parnell - Patient Navigator (Devon)

Donna was recognised for her exceptional leadership across two practices, transforming relationships with patients and the wider community through outreach, partnership working and an unwavering commitment to putting patients first.

Kim received highly commended recognition for her compassionate leadership, creating a supportive team culture while continually improving the experience of both colleagues and patients.

The Ambitious Award

Winner: Dr Matilda Esan – GP Clinical Lead (London)

Highly Commended: Mohammed Sharif – HCA (London)

Dr Matilda Esan was recognised for her outstanding leadership in transforming Rainham Health Centre, bringing stability, inspiring her team and driving meaningful improvements for patients and colleagues.

Mohammed received the highly commended recognition for his inspiring professional journey and commitment to improving patient care through continuous learning and tackling health inequalities.

The Resourceful Award

Winner: Niyyah Sharif & Sumaiyah Tahseen – Clinical Pharmacists (London)

Highly Commended:  Joanna Priest – Project Manager (Corporate Services)

Niyyah and Sumaiyah were recognised for developing an innovative diabetes injectables clinic, improving access to treatment and reducing barriers to care within their local community.

Joanna was highly commended for her exceptional planning, organisation and ability to successfully coordinate some of our most complex projects.

The Excellence Award

Winner:  Lea Garner – Nurse (London)

Highly Commended: Amber Truscott - Senior Nurse Manager and Arifa Begum - Operations Support Assistant (London)

Lea was recognised for her innovative work to improve HPV vaccination uptake through patient engagement, education and community partnerships.

Amber received the highly commended recognition for her outstanding leadership and commitment to developing nursing teams, while Arifa was recognised for her exceptional dedication and unwavering support for practices across the organisation.

The Team of the Year Award

Winner: St Luke's Health Centre (Essex)

Highly Commended: Rainham Health Centre (London)

St Luke's Health Centre was recognised for transforming patient experience through outstanding teamwork and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.

Rainham Health Centre received the highly commended recognition for rebuilding trust, strengthening services and delivering significant improvements for patients and the local community.

St Lukes

The Outstanding Impact Award

Winner: Dr Toby Lambeth - GP (London)

Highly Commended: Sidley Support Team

Dr Toby Lambeth was recognised for his outstanding leadership in tackling health inequalities through innovative community programmes that are improving access to care and influencing primary care beyond his own practice.

The Sidley Support Team received the highly commended recognition for their remarkable work in stabilising and transforming a complex practice, creating safer and more sustainable services for patients and colleagues.

The Above & Beyond Award

Winner: Matt Goodall – Practice Manager (Reading) 

Highly Commended: Meridian & Anchor Services (Coventry)  

Matt received our highest honour for his transformational leadership at The Potteries, creating a positive culture through compassionate leadership, open communication and unwavering support for his team.

The Meridian & Anchor Centres were highly commended for their exceptional commitment to supporting vulnerable communities, going above and beyond to reduce health inequalities and improve access to care.
