Operose Health Brings Leaders Together at National Managers’ Conference

On Thursday 30 April 2026, Operose Health brought together managers and clinical leaders from across the country for its first national Managers’ Conference, One Vision, One Million: The Primary Care Leadership Event.

The event marked a significant milestone for the organisation, providing a unique opportunity for leaders from across practices, services and corporate teams to come together in person, many for the first time.

Focused on Operose Health’s ambition to grow to one million patients while continuing to deliver high-quality care, the conference was designed to energise, equip and align leaders for the year ahead and beyond.

A shared vision for the future

Throughout the day, attendees heard from members of the Executive and Senior Leadership Team, who shared insights on the organisation’s strategy, priorities and the evolving primary care landscape.

Sessions covered key areas including:

  • Strategic priorities and organisational direction
  • Clinical quality, access and patient outcomes
  • The role of leadership in delivering sustainable services
  • Digital innovation and the future of primary care
  • Strengthening partnerships and system working

The event also featured interactive sessions and a candid “Ask the Exec” panel, creating space for open discussion and shared learning.

Celebrating impact across teams

One of the main themes from the day was that growth on its own is not enough, but instead, how it is delivered and what it means for patients.

In a session led by Dr Saffan Qureshi, Senior Medical Director, and Claire Osborne, Director of Operations, leaders were shown the real impact behind the work, including preventing hundreds of heart attacks and strokes, and improving access and outcomes for patients across local communities.

It was a strong reminder of the difference teams are making, which can sometimes be forgotten in the pressure of everyday work. Colleagues heard that as the organisation grows, strong leadership across services will be essential to maintaining that focus and ensuring consistent care for the 700,000 patients cared for by Operose Health’s staff across the country.

What our colleagues said

Dr Mohammed Munshi, GP and Regional Medical Director, said:

‘’As a GP, it was helpful to step back from the day-to-day environment and hear from peers and senior leaders about the direction we have for the organisation. The focus on access and quality felt practical and clear, and it gave me confidence that we are moving in the right direction for our patients and colleagues.’’

One of our Practice Managers, said:

‘’Bringing managers together like this made a real difference. It helped connect the bigger picture to what we are doing locally in our practices. I am leaving with a clearer sense of priorities and what good looks like, which will help me support my team more effectively.’’

Afro Varvitsioti, HR Workforce Manager, said:

‘’What stood out for me was the focus on leadership and supporting our people through change. As we grow, keeping things consistent and backing our teams will be really important. The conference was a good reminder of how much that matters for patient care.”

CEO reflection

Samantha Kane, Chief Executive Officer at Operose Health, said:

“Bringing our managers and clinical leaders together for the first time was an incredibly important moment for Operose Health.

As we look ahead, our ambition is clear but delivering it will depend on strong, aligned leadership across every one of our services.

This conference was about creating that alignment, building energy and ensuring everyone understands both the opportunity ahead and the role they play in achieving it.

What stood out most was the shared commitment across our teams to delivering high-quality care for our patients and communities, and the pride people feel in the work they do every day.”

Building momentum for the year ahead

The conference set the tone for the year ahead, reinforcing a shared sense of purpose and direction across the organisation.

By bringing leaders together, Operose Health continues to strengthen its focus on collaboration, consistency and delivering high-quality, patient-centred care at scale.
